Spring Plant Walk
Spring Plant Walk with Rachel Alexandrou Saturday May 28th 1-3pm at Dandelion Spring Farm
Join artist, forager, and cook in walking the land at Dandelion Spring Farm to find and forage wild edibles. Rachel will share the habitat, growing season, edibility, medicinal value and how to identify and cook with the plants that naturally occur in the local landscape. The walk will last 1.5 hours and end with a cooking demonstration and tasting of what we gather. Expect roots, shoots and the first wild greens of the season on this early spring walk.
Rachel Alexandrou is an interdisciplinary artist who uses her education in plant science, and collaborative practice, to create experiential work about food, flora, and re-imagining human relationships to the natural landscape. Rachel’s foraging knowledge comes from growing up on the Sheepscot River, a watershed rich with edible and medicinal plants. Rachel holds a B.S. in Sustainable Horticulture and a 400 hour certificate in Clinical Herbalism.
