CSA – Community Supported Agriculture
Community Supported Agriculture is a term that has many different forms.
We offer CSA shares in two forms:
- Our Debit CSA is for those of you who like to self select at the farmers’ market.
- Our Traditional CSA is a form where the farmers pre-bag a selection of vegetables for you each week that you can pick-up at a drop location in Rockland, Bowdoinham, or Portland. We currently have a winter season (December-March) and summer season (June-October) offering.
More information on each of these share types is below:
CSA Debit cards allow you to buy our products in advance, and currently hands free. Think of it like a gift card or a pre-paid account with your farmer. We’ll hold the card for you in a box and can let you know your balance at any time. The cards don’t expire and you can add to them whenever you’d like. For more information and to sign up, please go HERE.
We value CSA/Debit cards for their practical nature, but also because we find our CSA customers are those we often develop the closest relationships with. The health from vegetables is greater than the roots and leaves that you put in your shopping basket. Likewise for us, the value of farming comes from being part of the community that shares the vegetables & herbs that are grown on our soil.
When you purchase a CSA Debit card with us it is available for use at any of our farmers’ markets, pick-up locations, and online offerings. To use your card for an online pre-purchase, simply email us your request and we’ll submit your order.
Thank you for being part of our CSA community.
Summer 2021 CSA Shares
20 Weeks of Summer Harvest
June 16, 2021 – October 27, 2021
We specialize in cut greens and herbs. We love to grow bok choi, scallions, tender baby Japanese eggplants, tomatoes (so many colors!), cucumbers, delicata winter squash, and more! We do not grow onions, potatoes, and broccoli…
We offer a single sized share that will average about six different items a week. Typically, this is plenty of vegetables for a couple or small family. Individuals with a vegetable based diet might be a good match for the size of our share.
We are offering a sliding scale share price, with a standard price and also reduced (solidarity) and contributor level pricing options. We trust you to pick the share option that best fits your need. There is a reduction in price if you pick up at the farm.
If you choose to pay in two installments, the first is due now and the second is due by June 15th.
- On Farm Pick-up $575 (or two installments of $290)
- Rockland or Portland Pick-up $595 (or two installments of $300)
- Solidarity Share (pick-up any location) $446 (or two installments of $225) — 25% off market rate
- Contributor Share (pick-up any location) $714 (or two installments of $360) — 20% greater than market rate
We do not have the capacity to customize boxes or arrange special deliveries. If you are unable to make a pick-up, your share will be donated to one of the staff at our host sites, or a local gleaning agency supporting food security.
You might also consider our Herbal Kitchen Share, that is available monthly as an add on.
Shares are available for pick-up in Bowdoinham (Wednesdays 4-6pm), Rockland (Thursdays 9am-1pm), and Portland (Wednesdays 5pm-7pm).
