We often look at the farm and prioritize our actions from the lens of being a production farmer first. I’d like to shift our vision. Rather than look down the field, over the cultivated land, I’d like to take the perspective from being at the edge of the back woods. How can we create as diverse a habitat as possible around the back stream? Which species should we be planting in the space between our upper pond and field? Imagining our entire farm as a productive polyculture habitat feels true. Leaving behind the economic structure that is both security and a base of tradition production farming is hard.
Summer CSA shares available! Covid continues, pre-packed weekly shares available for easy pickup of nutritious, fresh, produce. Kitchen herbal share available, too! Link for signup in the bio!
That’s a snowbank. And sun! These good women have been tending our winter greens for you all season long. Cheers to their attentive eyes and consistent hard work to keep our diet as diverse as possible this winter. #TeamDandelion Thank you!
Loving the present, and dreaming of these days. Beautiful, flavorful, itchy, summer harvests- we’ll be ready for you!

Yesterday three members of the Dandelion team and myself participated in a @soulfirefarm Uprooting Racism workshop, and this morning we gathered in a greenhouse to share our feelings and talk about an action plan for the farm. This work requires a vulnerability of each of us that is not part of a normal job description.
