What is CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture is founded upon the relationship between the farmers and the community that desires to eat locally raised food. The structure of CSA is designed to maximize the relationship between consumer and producer. Your commitment to a “share” of our production enables us to provide you with a full season of delicious produce. You are paying it forward for your food.
We commit to caring for the soil while growing crops, like carrots, in a sustainable, healthful fashion, then distribute them among us, and share in the joy of eating these wonderfully sweet roots. Simple? Yes. Essences of land, energy, and community? Yes! All good things tied up in a single carrot. This is what Community Supported Agriculture is all about.
Growing and selling food is wild, poetic, and simply a lot of work. It also costs a lot of money to raise a carrot these days. CSA models help in the real accounting of food – for many months of the year our daily expenses far exceed the monetary gains. By purchasing a CSA share, you are paying for your food in the real time expense cycle of when it costs the most money to produce your food. Please consider joining our CSA share today! If you have questions, we’d love to hear from you.
Many of our regular customers are CSA members. As much as we value the timelines of the money exchange, it is the building of community that we appreciate the most. It seems that CSA customers visit the stand more often than non-members. We get to know you, and you, us. We sincerely believe that this relationship building is a first step in creating nourishing meals.
Use your share year-round
